JOB SUMMARY


 


Responsible for managing the personnel and manufacturing processes in a particular area.


Responsible for participating, supporting, and maintaining compliance to the company's quality, environmental and occupational health & safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities as defined by the company. 


Position responsibilities does include direct communications with customers or representatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


1.     Is able to plan a job from start to finish including selecting the most effective processes and subordinates to carry out the task.


2.     Is able to manage their workload (e.g., scheduling overtime, requesting extra personnel)


3.     Is able to use outside resources (e.g., sales people, magazines, internet) to evaluate processes and make recommendations.


4.     Has adequate understanding of the machinery their subordinates use in order to direct them in the best practices of using that equipment.


5.     Is able to direct their subordinates in the correct process and safety techniques for each of the tasks they assign.


6.     Is able to speak to their subordinates in a professional manner even when the employee is not acting professionally.


7.     Is able to evaluate their subordinates' performance and explain the evaluation professionally.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


Directly supervises 6 to 10 employees in a manufacturing environment. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Diploma or GED.  3-5 years supervisory experience in metal fabrication environment.


 POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK


 This is a Full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm (day shift)


TRAVEL


This position does not typically require travel (< 5%).

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is seldom required to sit. The employee is regularly  required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


 


WORKING ENVIRONMENT


The position requires the employee to be in a shop environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, moving mechanical parts and/or vibration. An employee can expect to regularly come into contact with dirt, grease, and oil. The noise level in a shop environment can be moderate to loud. The temperature in the shop closely follows that of the outdoors. Outdoor tasks may be assigned.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
